Riverside

Riverside is one of Princeton's larger residential neighborhoods, sitting on the south side of Route 27 (Nassau Street) and bordered on the south and east by Carnegie Lake. Littlebrook is the adjacent neighborhood across Nassau Street to the north. Its primary draw is the Riverside Elementary School zone, which generates consistent family demand and helps maintain strong resale values across the neighborhood.

The housing stock spans a wide range of eras, from pre-war homes to mid-century colonials and split-levels, all the way to newer custom-built homes near the water that are among the most notable properties in Princeton. Away from the water, you'll find a broad range of conditions from original to fully renovated.

Location-wise, Riverside is the only Princeton neighborhood with homes directly on a lake. The western edge of Riverside is within walking and biking distance of Nassau Street and the Princeton University campus, while the eastern portions are closer to Route 1 and the Princeton Shopping Center. Lake Carnegie is a defining amenity, offering rowing, walking trails, and scenic views that few other Princeton neighborhoods can match.

With around 56 closed sales over the past 24 months, Riverside is one of Princeton's most active markets by transaction volume. That liquidity is a plus for both buyers and sellers: there's enough turnover to establish clear comparable values, and homes that are priced well tend to move efficiently.
